Spring/Summer 2011 Vegetable Program
This years Vegetable Share Program is scheduled to kick off April 27th. The details of the program are described below. Please read completely and decide if this type of program is for you. If it is, follow the directions at the bottom of this page to subscribe to our program.
How It Works: This year we will be working directly with two good friends of mine, Dave Bentoski of D&A Farm and Adam and Mecca Lowe of Turtle Bend Farm. Dave is a Certified Organic vegetable farmer here just outside of Atlanta. Adam and Mecca own Turtle Bend Farm which is also a organic vegetable farm located right here in Rockmart, our home town. With a preseason payment, you can purchase a "share" of the harvest . You then receive a weekly box of our freshest, seasonal produce during the course of the season.
A Shared Commitment: When you sign up, you dedicate yourself to being our customer for the season you have chosen to participate in, thus providing us a secure market -- a welcome measure of certainty in the fickle world of farming! We, in turn, dedicate ourselves to being your farmers, providing you with a varied, nutritious vegetable diet. As a customer of the Vegetable Share it is your responsibility to pick-up or arrange for pick-up of your box in your absence. If you are unable it will be donated to a local soup kitchen.
What Vegetables are included: Availability of specific vegetables will obviously vary as the season changes, but the Spring/Summer season will include the following over the course of the 18 weeks:
Broccoli, Cauliflower, Kale, Cabbage, Carrots, Asian Greens, Turnips, many varieties of lettuce, Squash, beans, potatoes, tomatoes, melons, strawberries, and blueberries.
How Many Vegetables Do I Get? This is the hardest question to answer because each week there will be an average of 5-6 different vegetables in the box. The half bushel box measures 7 inches tall 14 inches long and 11 inches wide. Usually a half bushel share is enough vegetabels for a family of 2 adults several vegetable dishes each week.

PAYMENT OPTIONS:
It helps me to stay organized by taking payment through paypal for the vegetable share because I have a good record of who has paid. If you have an aversion to paypal or credit cards I totally understand. Two additional options exist
1)Payment in Full in the form of cash at least one week before the start of the program.
2) Write 3 post dated checks and bring them to me during a delivery at least one week before the start of the Vegetable Share Season
